Satellite Internet network Starlink of the American company SpaceX became available on all continents. This was announced by the founder of the company Elon Musk.

The Starlink network is now active on all continents, including Antarctica,” Elon Musk tweeted.

Musk shared the message about this achievement after SpaceX last night put into orbit a new batch of Starlink satellites – 54 devices. There are now more than three thousand of them in space.

The company says that the Starlink network can give access to the Internet anywhere in the world at a traffic rate of one gigabit per second. There are plans to increase the number of satellites in orbit to 11 thousand pieces.

As Life reported, earlier Dmitry Rogozin, at that time still the head of Roscosmos, saw military potential in The Starlink satellites of Elon Musk. In Europe, too, they called for limiting Musk’s capabilities in space. According to the head of ESA, the American billionaire actually sets his own rules in orbit – this is an “amazing situation”.
