Tests have confirmed that Android Q is not the quickest version

Year after year, Google’s development team releases a new version of Android, and everyone immediately starts discussing the innovations that have appeared in the mobile operating system. However, few people talk about changes in the speed of the device with each subsequent release.

We need to believe that the new Android is not only getting better, but also faster. The author of the YouTube channel Gary Explains conducted an experiment in which he tried to answer this question. Gary Sims (Gary Sims) and previously conducted various tests with software and hardware products, but in them, he used different devices.

To make a more or less subjective assessment, he installed four versions of the operating system (Android 7.1.2 Nougat, Android 8.1 Oreo, Android 9 Pie, and Android Q,) on the first-generation Google Pixel smartphone.

A series of tests has shown that Android Q is slow from the earlier version of the Android. At first, it really took the lead, but eventually, it was overtaken by Android 7.1.2 Nougat, which eventually became the leader, and Android 9 Pie, which took the second place. The speed of Android Q is at the level of Android 8.1 Oreo. The two systems completed the tests at the same time.

It is possible that the main reason for the slowdown of the smartphone on Android Q is its outdated hardware. Probably, Google Pixel of the first generation can no longer fully meet the requirements of the new version of the system.
