Back in the summer of this year, many analysts called devices that they believe will update the new version of the Android operating system. Most predicted that Motorola will update its new budget line – Moto E4 and E4 Plus, but it’s not. The American company officially called smartphones, which will receive an upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo. As you might expect, this year’s flagships, Moto Z2 Play and Moto Z2 Force Edition, will receive a fresh version of the “green robot“. Last year’s smartphones of the higher price segment – Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid – will also not be left without attention. In addition to the flagship solutions, Motorola will also update its mid-year 2017: Moto X4, Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus, Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus.
Contrary to expectations, Motorola will not upgrade budget smartphones to Android 8.0. But the flagships and middles will get a treasured update
It remains a mystery why the upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo will pass Moto E4 and E4 Plus – especially considering that Motorola is distributing a “clean” version of the operating system. The American company did not name the exact timeframe for the release of a new “green robot” for branded devices. It is clear only that the first wave of updates will begin this fall. Most likely, the current flagships Moto Z2 Play and Moto Z2 Force Edition will be the first to get Android 8.0 Oreo.
