Before the launch of MIUI 9, less than a week left and Xiaomi started a set of beta testers at its official MIUI forum. Although a long list of devices is offered for beta testing, only a couple of them will be the first to receive a beta version. These devices are Xiaomi Mi6 and Redmi Note 4 (Qualcomm) and Redmi Note 4X.

The number of devices supported for closed beta testing this year is less than in the past for debugging MIUI 8. MIUI 8 firmware appeared earlier (in May 2016), and closed beta testing started on about 8 devices. MIUI 9 not only appeared later but only four devices, including Xiaomi Mi5X, will actually receive this update first.
